Where Is My Fear?
My name is Pusshamon Khongkha. My nickname is Kungkaew. I am 45 years old.I currently lived in Sukhothai province. I am an emergency nurse and a half marathon runner, running a full marathon is my dream.
Before I started to learn with Topica native online classes. I was a host family, one of the volunteers stayed with my family for 2 months.
At that time no one in my family could speak English except me but I could converse a little. My conversation involves short sentences and I need to use Google translate all the time.
I felt shy and so sad that I’m not able to communicate in English. That’s when I decided, I wanted to develop my English skills, but I didn’t have time to go for classes.
I have no idea what I should do.
One day I found Topica online program on my Facebook, it was amazing! I need it to learn for developing my English skills. I searched it many ways and read comments, there are many different comments but the advantages outweigh the disadvantages.
I loved that I’m able to be learning with a native English speaker every day and can choose the suitable time for me to learn. I immediately decided to join this program.
The steps to learning English are easy and had a lasting impression on me. I liked the lady’s voice when she called to me (I still remembered her name hahaha).
The first time in class, I was so excited and didn’t do anything in right way also didn’t catch all words from the teacher, but both teachers (Thai and native) are very kind and helpful. I didn’t want to just be an observer and wanted to talk more, they helped me by speak slowly and clearly (I absolutely remember named of both teacher.
And I couldn’t forget someone who is standing with me all the time ‘My advisor’. (I have two because the first advisor had left the company when while I was in the program.)
She encouraged by texting me the lesson and giving words of encouragement for continuing the journey. Nowadays she takes care of me. I am so lucky because they are good advisors and have experienced in taking care of the students.
And the last thing that I want to mention is lessons, it changed every week and very useful in daily life. I can learn more vocabulary, pronunciation from a native speaker, and know the correct grammar.
In the beginning, I was a basic student(level 100). I then set a plan to improve and learn in the intermediate class(level 100 too) the following week.
I need to tell my feeling before I finish this online program. Nowadays I don’t fear anything.
I can pass English barrier so I can communicate with my patients and a great opportunity to talk to other people, to understand them successfully and I am also able to share my thoughts and ideas.
I can also travel aboard alone without fear (maybe I can compete in international marathons). I always ask myself ‘where is my fear?’ because I don’t fear anything when I speak English fluently.
